We are pleased that you are interested in MasterCraft Construction, and hope that as you better understand our process, you will see the benefits of using a Design-Build Construction Team for your home project. Every construction project requires careful planning and professional execution to be successful. We believe our Design-Build Process provides the homeowner greater assurance that they will receive outstanding VALUE in communication, time, and performance from our entire team.
Let’s take a brief walk through Our Process to show you these benefits.
Your New Custom home or Newly Renovated Home project actually begins long before you contact us. Usually homeowners contemplate their project for months. Unsure of how and where to start, you may check with friends who have done projects in the past with MCC. Perhaps that is what has led you to our website. After your initial contact with MasterCraft Construction, we will meet with you, introduce our company a little more and gather additional data about your home project.
The first visit will give us lots of information about your ideas, the scope of your project, your budget, and time limitations. If you need architectural drawings for your job, a Design Team member may be the first MasterCraft face that you meet. He or she will then translate your ideas into “real design”. They will discuss with you the Pre-Construction Services Agreement. This is an initial contract for MCC to provide “Conceptual Designs, and a Cost Projection” of your project.
This is a very important part of your project (whether you use MCC or not). Reputable builders just do not work from pen and ink napkin drawings.
You may review your “conceptual drawings” several times before you arrive at your Final Design. Once your Design and Cost Projection are accepted, a full set of “Final Detailed Plans” are then drawn. At this point, in the process, you should be very busy making all of the numerous selections which will also affect the final cost of your project.
Selection Coordination is also available at this stage of your project. Our MCC Selection Coordinator provides professional assistance to our clients to confirm the numerous selections and decisions associated with each project. Her goal is to guide clients, in an effort to ensure selections are completed in a timely manner, to support the project schedules.
Her professional background, product knowledge, and ability to assimilate “the many parts of the whole,”make her a valuable part of the MCC Design/Build Process. As a Homowner works down their selection list, she is collecting and collaborating with the Design and Development Team, making sure that it all conforms with other facets of the project and stays within the original budget and scope.
When all of your selections are complete, we can complete a Final Estimate of the costs of your project. They must gather data from a number of our subcontractors and suppliers. This generally takes several days. You are then provided with a Fixed Price Proposal.
Upon signing the Construction Contract, the project or “baton” is passed to the Production Manager for his complete review. He is charged with knowing and verifying every detail of your job, on paper, and in reality. He manages the Master Production calendar of job starts, schedules your project, and assigns your Project Manager, soon to be known as your New Best Friend. The Production Manager doesn’t just hand your Plans off to the Project Manager. They are team Members who work cooperatively, all the way to that final Client Walk-thru.
Whether your project takes 6 weeks or 6 months, MasterCraft Construction LLC, is committed to providing you outstanding service and excellent workmanship from your first phone call, till we remove our sign from your front yard! Our Design-Build Process delivers all the rewards of Efficient, Cooperative Construction Management with single point responsibility.
